Favorize Wishlist for Shopify
Add an “Add to Wishlist” button to your product pages, so shoppers can save your products to their own Favorize wishlists and share them with the people who buy their gifts.
Favorize Wishlist is a theme app extension: it adds one app block to your product template and nothing else. Your theme code, cart, checkout and customer accounts are not changed.
Install
- Install Favorize Wishlist from the Shopify App Store, or from the install link you received.
- In your Shopify admin go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize on your current theme.
- Use the template picker at the top to open Products → Default product.
- In the left sidebar, inside the Product information section, click Add block → Apps → Favorize Wishlist.
- Drag the block so it sits below the Buy buttons block.
- Click Save.
The button now appears under the buy buttons on every page that uses the Default product template. If you use other product templates, repeat steps 3 to 6 for each one.
How it works
- The button is deliberately neutral. It inherits the font and text colour of your theme and uses a thin outline, so it fits in without extra styling.
- When a shopper clicks it, a small favorize.app window opens. The shopper signs in with their own Favorize account (or creates one) and picks the list to save the product to.
- Nothing is stored in your store. Saving and signing in happen on favorize.app, not on your pages.
- Your cart, checkout and orders are not touched.
Troubleshooting
I cannot find the block in the theme editor
The block is not in the main Apps list of the editor. Open the Product information section of the product template first, then click Add block inside that section and look under Apps. App blocks require an Online Store 2.0 theme; older themes do not offer app blocks in sections.
The button is missing on some products
Products that use a different template than the one you edited do not have the block yet. Open that template in the editor and add the block there as well.
Nothing happens when the button is clicked
The button opens a popup window. If the browser blocks it, allow popups for your store’s address and try again.
Privacy
The app requests only the read_products permission, which is what the app block needs to show the product name, price and image. It does not read customers, orders or any other store data, and it does not store shop or customer data anywhere.
The product name, price, image and page URL are sent to favorize.app only when a shopper clicks the button. The shopper’s wishlist lives in their own Favorize account, which they control. Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks (customer data request, customer erasure, shop erasure) are acknowledged; as the app keeps no shop or customer data, there is nothing to export or delete. See the Favorize privacy policy for how Favorize handles account data.
Uninstall
In your Shopify admin go to Settings → Apps and sales channels, open Favorize Wishlist and click Uninstall. The app block is removed from your theme automatically. Wishlists that shoppers already saved remain in their Favorize accounts.
